Rudolf Gautschi fulfilled his long-cherished dream of independence in the summer of 1958. After only a week of deliberation, he decided to rent the Zentral Garage on Mittelstrasse in Langenthal. He started his business on Saturday, July 12, 1958, with the VW and Chrysler brands. As the only VW dealership in the region, demand was high and success was not long in coming. However, with only three employees and limited space, the business was barely able to meet customer needs. A new business location was therefore an unavoidable step. A garage needed to be close to the town center and have enough space. With the aim of combining both requirements, Rudolf Gautschi made the bold decision to purchase building land on Bützbergstrasse. At that time, Bützbergstrasse was not lined with gray concrete blocks. Instead, it was surrounded by lush greenery. It was here that Rudolf Gautschi saw his future garage.

By the fall of 1961, the move to the new location had been completed, laying the foundation for the company's successful development.
