The four parts of osteopathy
Parietal osteopathy
This area of therapy is similar to the techniques used in manual medicine and chiropractic and aims to correct and mobilize joints.
Visceral osteopathy
The mobility of the respective organ in relation to its anatomical environment and the organ's own rhythm are examined and treated.
Restrictions in one organ can lead to complaints in the spine and vice versa.
Craniosacral osteopathy
This subfield deals with the rhythmic movement of cerebrospinal fluid (liquor) and the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), as well as the transmission of these rhythmic processes to the meninges, the bones of the skull, the sacrum, and the entire body.
Myofascial osteopathy
This area deals with tensions in the body that are transmitted via the fascial network. Myofascial work has a relaxing and pain-relieving effect, thus improving the removal of metabolic waste products and lymph.
The strength of osteopathy lies in finding and treating complaints whose connections can be identified through a holistic and networked analysis.
