Bed & Bike

Our century-old house has been carefully renovated and is located in Airolo, in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The stone walls and modern surroundings come together in a timeless and charming combination that captivates everyone. Our Bed&bike owes its name to the Tremola, the legendary cobbled road of the San Gottardo Pass. It is no coincidence that the eight non-smoking double rooms, equipped with bathrooms, TV-radio, and Wi-Fi, have been named after the hairpin bends ( Òut du Fòrt, Òut d'Santirana, Òut d'Pradàsc...) and decorated with images from the epic history of cycling. Our house has seen champions such as Kubler, Koblet, and Bartali whizz by. A past that cannot be forgotten and that today translates into: a DIY workshop with small spare parts, an ebike recharge station, a bike room, a laundry service for sportswear, and a space for washing bikes.

We offer our guests a varied breakfast based on quality, homemade products, with a focus on local produce. The perfect fuel for exploring the region!

Osteria

Discover the region through its flavors. This is the art of manager and chef Luca Brughelli, who offers authentic cuisine inspired by the seasons in every dish, with a particular fondness for local products and a keen interest in rediscovering traditions and ancient flavors, as well as reevaluating products considered poor. Adding further creativity and flair to the kitchen is chef Ruun Cali, who never fails to make her own personal contribution to the revaluation of local treasures.

The dishes are accompanied by fine wines: many regional, several organic, some illustrious staples, and a few collectible labels. Tania Brughelli, who has been working alongside her husband Luca since 2008, recommends the perfect pairing to make the culinary experience even more unforgettable.

Opening hours

Tremola San Gottardo is open from 7:00 a.m. to midnight. Lunch is served from noon to 2:00 p.m. and dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Airolo is located at the foot of the San Gottardo Pass. As soon as you step outside the Bed&bike, the lure of the Tremola is irresistible. It is one of the most spectacular roads in the world. But there is more than just the historic cobbled road! Airolo is located in the realm of Alpine passes, in the heart of the Gotthard massif.

The mountains, peaks, and forests visible from the windows invite you to immerse yourself in unspoiled nature, to take a path to an alpine lake or to embark on a multi-stage hike, perhaps along the Via Idra.

Airolo is a destination for all seasons. Its ski slopes have produced champions such as Doris De Agostini, Michela Figini, and Lara Gut. The nearby Val Bedretto is a paradise for ski touring. For those who want to experience a little alpine glamour or explore a larger ski area, the well-known resort of Andermatt is only 30 minutes away from Airolo by train or car.
