I grew up and went to school in Klosters. Even as a young boy, I often visited my grandfather in his smithy/locksmith's workshop in Alvaneu. I first trained as a carpenter, but my fascination with metal and especially forging led me to train as a metalworker.
In 1990, I took over my grandfather's workshop. Our family's blacksmithing tradition is documented as being over 300 years old. Since then, I have been living and working in Alvaneu with my wife Margrith, and we run our business together with joy and conviction.
Among other things, I received a sponsorship award from the canton of Graubünden in 2000 for "Bündner Kunsthandwerk" (Graubünden arts and crafts). This enabled me to continue my education at the Zurich University of the Arts.
My work mostly has a contemporary design language, with a focus on blacksmithing techniques. I also carry out metal construction and locksmith work.
Individual solutions in metal and other materials are an interesting challenge for me.
