History

How it all began.

After many years of friendship, Rolf Köhli and Fausto Lucchesi, two master hairdressers from Basel and Dornach, decided to join forces and founded HairSign.               

1945: Willy Köhli founds the hairdressing salon Coiffeur Köhli at Kernmattstrasse 8 in Binningen. His wife Anna Köhli, also a trained hairdresser, works in the same salon in Binningen (BL).

1954: Willy Köhli moves his hairdressing salon to Steinentorstrasse 26 in Basel. His clients include Johannes Heesters, Alfred and Roland Rasser, Buddy Elias, Gisela Tantau, Marlene Riphahn, Michael Arco, Andi Borer, Peter Gebhart, Lotti Krekel, and Willy Millowitsch.

1978: Coiffeur Köhli moves to Theaterstrasse 22 in Basel.

1984: Rolf Köhli takes over the Coiffeur Köhli business from his father Willy Köhli. Willy Köhli continues to work in his son's company until 2000, when he reaches the age of 80.

1985-1988: Fausto Lucchesi completes his apprenticeship in men's hairdressing at Coiffeur Köhli.

1991: The Coiffeur Köhli hairdressing salon is now called Rolf Köhli Hair Design.

1990-1996: Fausto Lucchesi works as an employee at Rolf Köhli Hair Design.

1997: Fausto Lucchesi opens his hair salon Creativ Team at Hauptstrasse 20 in Dornach.

2002: Founding of HairSign: After many years of friendship, Rolf Köhli and Fausto Lucchesi jointly found the company
Coiffeur Köhli-Lucchesi GmbH and open their first joint salons on Marktgasse and in Dornach under the name HairSign.

2003: Opening of HairSign Salon Marktgasse (main store). Fausto Lucchesi's former store in Dornach, Creativ Team, is renovated and reopened as HairSign Salon.

2007: Opening of HairSign Salon Spalenberg.

March 2012: Opening of HairSign Salon Arlesheim, Bahnhofstrasse 16, "Le Pont" development.

April 2012: Renovation of Salon Spalenberg – reopening as HairSign Young Fashion.
