Ecological decontamination treatment for the biological maintenance of materials

Against moss, green growth, algae, and lichens

ALGIMOUSS is a product that biologically destroys moss, green growth, lichens, and algae by acting primarily on their spores.

Roofs

Can be used on slate, fiber cement, terracotta tiles, concrete tiles, shingles, thatch, polycarbonates, and other plastics.

For optimal results, it is best to allow ALGIMOUSS to dry before it rains. However, once the product has settled into the pores, its action will be reactivated with each rainfall. ALGIMOUSS will then begin the biological destruction of the parasitic plants on which it has been applied. This takes a few weeks to a few months and is manifested by a gradual change in color and/or appearance. These dead plants will then dry out and disintegrate. Rain, wind, snow, and other weather conditions will cause the roof to gradually clean itself.

   
 

Walls and facades

ALGIMOUSS can be applied to plaster, render, paint, wood, stone, brick, pool surrounds, monuments, balconies, and rockeries in the same way as on roofs.

Safe

Bathrooms, hallways, dressing rooms, laundry rooms, and entryways are generally rooms without exterior windows and therefore require artificial lighting. To bring natural light into these dark rooms in the house where installing windows is not an option, there is an alternative to artificial lighting: skylights.

A skylight consists of a tube that channels sunlight into a room. The light is captured by a dome or a pane of glass installed on the roof or facade. It then passes through a tube, usually made of aluminum. The interior of the tube reflects the sun's rays to a diffuser located in the room.Diffusers can be made of either acrylic or polycarbonate. According to some manufacturers, acrylic allows 99% of light to pass through, compared to 70% for polycarbonate.

One advantage of skylights is that the tubes are placed between the rafters and do not require any structural modifications.

To light a 10m² room, the tube diameter must be 25 cm; 45 cm for rooms such as living rooms or bedrooms.

The example of the Sun Tunnel by Vélux

 

Velux has developed the "Sun Tunnel" skylight. It is available in two versions depending on the location of the room to be lit (short or long distances from the roof).

The flexible duct, made of reflective aluminum, is designed to reach rooms that are not too far away.

The rigid conduit, made of highly reflective aluminum, is designed to reach rooms that are further away, up to 6 m (with extensions). It provides a significant amount of light thanks to its highly reflective tube (mirror coating).

Both models can be equipped (as an option) with an electric auxiliary lighting system for nighttime or days when natural light is scarce.

In order to maintain the clarity of the glazing, an innovation called "Clear and Net" has been developed. "Thanks to its photocatalysis principle, plant debris and other organic dirt are broken down. When it rains, the hydrophilic function allows water to slide off the glass, dispersing the drops and washing away surface dirt. As it dries, the water evaporates without leaving any traces, " explains Velux.

To provide optimal insulation and prevent any risk of condensation in the duct, the diffusing ceiling light is equipped with a double translucent acrylic wall. The frame material is polyurethane-coated wood.

Who is it for?

The Sun Tunnel can be installed in any type of single-family home, whether new or renovated. It can be installed on all tiled roofs with a slope of 15° to 60° and on all slate roofs with a slope of 35° to 60°.

In terms of aesthetics, from the outside, the Sun Tunnel looks like a roof window. With its flat shape, it blends in well with the roof. The glass surface of the Sun Tunnel is positioned flush with the roofing materials for optimal aesthetic harmony with the roof.

Technical characteristics

The Sun Tunnel consists of three parts:
On the roof:
- a polyurethane frame flush with the roof with integrated connection;
- 4 mm tempered glass (dimensions) with a "clear & net" treatment

Under the roof, depending on the distance between the roof and ceiling and the amount of light desired:
- a flexible aluminum reflector duct suitable for distances ranging from 40 centimeters to 2 meters.
- or a highly reflective rigid aluminum duct, suitable for distances ranging from 0.4 to 1.8 meters (up to 6 meters with extensions).

The longer the connection, the less light is diffused.

Inside the room:
- a white diffuser ceiling light equipped with double translucent acrylic glazing.

Optional:
- Electric auxiliary lighting system for nighttime use (light kit) installed behind the ceiling light. For 23 W low-voltage fluorescent screw-in bulb (not included).

Light output:

- for a flexible aluminum reflector duct: 2100 lumens;

- 6,500 lumens for a highly reflective rigid duct.
