Museo Comunale d'Arte Moderna
Museum in Ascona
The Museo Comunale d'Arte Moderna in Ascona is housed in a beautiful late 16th-century building on Via Borgo. It hosts the municipal collection and is home to the Marianne Werefkin Foundation and the Richard and Uli Seewald Foundation. The museum's origins date back to 1922, when artists who had settled in Ascona donated works to establish the collection, which now includes important pieces by Jawlensky, Amiet, Klee, and others.
