Your contract distillery in the Baar and Zug region
The Keiser contract distillery turns your fruit into fine spirits. Or try our Zuger Kirsch AOC and other fine fruit brandies, which we produce using fruit from our own orchards.
The Keiser contract distillery was founded in 2010 by Arnold Keiser, whose family has a long tradition of distilling. Arnold's father and grandfather already held the right to distill on their farm.
Today, farmers and private individuals who want to have their fruit processed into fine brandies and liqueurs also benefit from Arnold Keiser's extensive expertise and many years of experience as a distiller.
The basis for the fine distillates produced by the Keiser contract distillery is ripe, high-quality fruit such as cherries, plums, apples, and pears. These come from around 250 standard trees on the Keiser family farm or from the customers' own orchards.
In addition to producing fine fruit distillates and liqueurs, Arnold Keiser also offers whisky distilling.

The Keiser contract distillery distills fine fruit brandies from your fruit. The minimum quantity is 30 kg for stone fruit and 50 kg for pome fruit. After distillation, Arnold Keiser reduces the high-proof distillate to drinking strength with water and filters it.

Incidentally, the Zuger Kirsch from the Keiser distillery bears the protected designation of origin AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée). Arnold Keiser supplies this high-quality brandy to various Zug pastry shops, which use it to make Zug cherry cake.

Now available to purchase at Arnold Keiser's farm. You can find the prices of the whisky in the distillates price list.
- The art of distilling
How fruit is turned into fine schnapps
The basis for a fine distillate is ripe, high-quality fruit. First, the fruit is crushed into a mash and yeast is added so that the fruit sugar is converted into alcohol. After 1-2 months, this is then distilled in the still.
The alcohol evaporates faster than the water and enters the amplifier bases for purification. The alcohol is returned to liquid form in a cooling device. The high-grade distillate obtained in this way can now be diluted with water to drinking strength and filtered.
The distillation process goes through various phases: the fore run, the middle run, and the after run. Only the middle run is suitable for consumption. The art of the distiller lies in finding the right moment for the transition between these phases.
An art that Arnold Keiser has mastered perfectly.
Experience distilling live
With his mobile distillery, Arnold Keiser is a regular guest at trade fairs in the region and at the Treichler confectionery – the inventor of the Zuger Kirschtorte. During the demonstration distillation, everyone can witness how fine distillates are made from fruit.
