Company

The architectural firm Hansjörg Müller Architekt SWB was founded on November 1, 1970, by Hansjörg Müller as a sole proprietorship based in Aesch, BL.

In 1990, the sole proprietorship was converted into a public limited company—Hansjörg Müller + Partner Architekten AG.

Today, the operational management team consists of Lukas Müller (son of the company founder) and Peter Schneider.

Yvonne Müller (wife of the company founder) has served as chair of the board of directors since the death of company founder Hansjörg Müller in 2002.

Philosophy

The aim of our work is to translate the most diverse requirements of a construction project into clear and consistent architecture, down to the last detail.

Functional, structural, and constructional aspects are just as important to us as social, economic, and scheduling constraints, as are ecological construction objectives. The starting point for our design work is an examination of the uniqueness of each location.

In our work process, we place great importance on finding simple, contemporary, and justifiable solutions, with a focus on the user. We develop individual solutions for every construction project, whether it is a small renovation or a larger project. This is combined with a high sense of responsibility towards the user, our environment, and the future.

The architectural concept should represent a holistic concept that is consistently pursued from the design idea to the detailed solution and execution. In our team, the transitions between design, planning, and implementation are fluid.

The use of state-of-the-art IT tools, from planning to cost control, enables us to additionally review our work at every stage of the project. For us, adherence to costs and deadlines is a matter of course.

In the field of conversions/renovations, the office also has a wide range of experience with listed buildings.

We constantly strive to keep up with the latest developments and experiences in the field of building ecology and energy-efficient, resource-saving construction, and we continuously incorporate the knowledge we gain into our current projects. We have already built several single-family homes and apartment buildings in accordance with the Minergie standard.
