History of Selmani Polishing

Self-employed since 2005, director Selmani Kefli has built up over 25 years of expertise in this field. He has been responsible for polishing for various companies in French-speaking Switzerland.

He is supported in his daily tasks by a team of five highly trained and professional polishers who work in the workshop. This team can sometimes grow to 10 people to fulfill orders.

Polishing precious and semi-precious metals requires very specific techniques, meticulous attention to detail, precision in movement, and exceptional expertise. Polishing is a very delicate craft that requires extreme precision. All polishing techniques are used in this workshop: satin finishing, microblasting, and sandblasting, which gives a matte finish using sand and microbeads. Circular satin finishing for watch backs, as in leather goods, gives a satin finish and a polished top.

Thanks to the different polishing techniques, it is possible to give different finishes to the polished parts. In the 1,400-square-foot Selmani Polishing workshop, we polish watch parts made of steel, stainless steel, titanium, and precious metals, belt buckles, clasps for luggage, etc.

We mainly polish by hand, but also use machines (polishing lathes, washing machines, inspection machines, etc.).

Buckles, pushers, crowns, and watch clasps are polished every day at Selmani Polissage. We also work for the luxury leather goods industry, polishing brass belt buckles that are treated with gold or gold plating.
