Solutions
We are masters of our craft as patent attorneys: registering, defending, and enforcing intellectual property rights, as well as attacking and destroying opposing intellectual property rights (more under "Legal Areas").
However, we want to offer our clients more than just legal building blocks. Our aim is to provide solutions for business tasks and specific challenges. To this end, we work closely with Integrate-IP GmbH, our partner for research and patent data analysis.
- For managing directors and technical managers
- For IP managers of larger portfolios
- For developers and project managers
- For start-ups
- For investors
Legal areas
We focus on the legal areas of patents, designs, and trademarks. We represent our clients directly before the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), and the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). In addition, we are admitted as patent attorneys before both the Swiss and German Federal Patent Courts. Through our global network and in cooperation with our long-standing local attorneys, we also represent our clients before the offices and courts of various countries.

Technical fields
Our expertise and industry knowledge
As patent attorneys, we are experts in specific fields thanks to our university degrees in natural sciences or technical subjects (physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, aerospace engineering). Thanks to our many years of experience, we have also acquired specialist knowledge in various industries and are constantly learning more. The technical fields in which we have acquired particular expertise include:
Mechanical and plant engineering
Historically, mechanical and plant engineering began with the invention of the steam engine by Thomas Newcomen and its industrial development by James Watt (patent application 1769). A lot has happened since then – today, the industry is one of the largest sectors of our economy and will continue to develop as a result of trends such as digitalization and sustainability.
- Drive technology
- Printing technology
- Conveyor technology
- Heating and ventilation technology
Vehicle construction
Vehicle construction includes, for example, the large European automotive industry and its suppliers, but also highly developed building technology. These areas are subject to change due to social trends and, time and again, legislation, which offers great opportunities for new developments and patents.
- Buses
- Bicycles
- Special vehicles
- Soil cultivation
- Building technology
Construction
The construction industry contributes significantly to the gross value added of Germany and Switzerland and has shown steady, moderate growth in recent years. Motivated in particular by the sub-sectors of architecture and construction technology, new solutions worthy of protection are constantly emerging in this field.
- Building materials
- Heating technology
Electrical engineering
Electrical engineering is an engineering science that has brought about great progress in almost every area of industry and life. Many questions of the future—for example, in the fields of robotics or sensor technology—will involve solutions and products from this discipline and thus continue to generate constant innovation.
- Computer systems
- Coding and security systems
- Building services engineering
- Electrical cables
- Measurement technology
- Quantum electronics
- Robotics
- Sensors
- Telecommunications
- Transmission systems
Medical technology
Medical technology combines technology and engineering with the medical expertise of doctors to improve the diagnosis and treatment of sick people, for example. European legislation is increasingly harmonizing national laws, which also simplifies the management of intellectual property.
- Diagnostic devices
- Injectors
- Catheters
- Dental technology
Biotechnology
The use of enzymes, cells, or organisms in technical applications is an emerging field. In various industries, agriculture, and medicine, there is still great potential to use nature for progress.
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- Spectrometry
- Genetic engineering
Process and process engineering
Processes often hold hidden potential for improvement or even innovation. Process engineering is widespread across all industries and is facing exciting new developments, for example through advances in automation and robotics.
- Exhaust gas purification
- Industrial manufacturing
- Logistics
- Welding technology
Technical physics
For centuries, the practical application of physics in technology and engineering has repeatedly led to major, groundbreaking innovations that often disrupt entire industries. Individual, relatively new subfields such as environmental physics and computer simulations also promise exciting developments in the future.
