Tick different – horological delicacies in the UNESCO-protected old town
Or our Maegli jewelry stores in Solothurn and Olten
Our hearts beat at 28,800 vibrations per hour and Möbius 9010 (watch oil for lubricating the escapement) flows through our veins. We are infected with the watch virus. But we don't want to fight it; instead, we want to indulge in our passion for watchmaking.
We have put together an exciting and unique collection of watches from smaller, mostly independent manufacturers and creators. For lovers of vintage watches, we carry an extensive range of well-maintained watches that you will no longer find in any collection book. And even after your purchase, our highly qualified watchmakers in our certified workshop will take care of your favorite pieces.
We warmly welcome you to Uhrsachen in Kramgasse in Bern.
180° AGAINST THE TREND
One of the biggest trends in the watch industry right now is verticalization. This means that watch manufacturers are taking everything into their own hands, from production and distribution to the sale of their products to end customers. This leads to opulent stores filled with hundreds of watches with no opportunity to compare them to other brands. They can be found all over the world, yet they always look the same. Don't like this trend? Neither do we. But it helps us position ourselves in the opposite niche.
True to our credo "Tick different," we have compiled our selection of watches.
ABOUT US
A family business with tradition
The foundations of watchmaking were laid by Dominik Maegli's two great-grandfathers. Jakob HIltebrand-Moser, whose travels as a clockmaker took him to Budapest in 1897 and who set up his own business as a watchmaker with a jewelry store in Andelfingen in 1904, and Meinrad Maegli, who opened the Maegli jewelry store in Olten in 1910. For the fourth-generation family business, the move to Bern was the perfect complement to the existing watch and jewelry stores in Olten and Solothurn.
