Cosmetal Ghisla SA was founded in Biasca in 1969, when Giovanni Ghisla decided to establish the limited company.
A few years later, he built the current workshop at Via Vincenzo Vela 10.
Giovanni passed on his passion for the profession to his sons Christian and Nicola: both undertook apprenticeships as metalworkers in their father's company.
Christian continued his training, obtaining certificates as a metalworker designer and workshop manager, and in 1998 he obtained his master metalworker diploma.
A few years later, his brother Nicola followed in his footsteps. After obtaining his metalworker's certificate, he moved to the canton of Bern, where he successfully completed an apprenticeship as a metalworker designer. He then returned to his father's company and, when his father took his well-deserved retirement, joined Christian in running the business.
After his brother's untimely death, Nicola took over the management and continued his training, obtaining a workshop manager's certificate and, in 2006, a master metalworker's diploma.
PROFESSIONALISM
Cosmetal Ghisla SA designs, manufactures, and installs independently, thanks to the expertise of its employees: a master metalworker, a metalworker and designer, a metalworker, and two laborers.
DYNAMISM AND FLEXIBILITY
The company has gradually adapted to new market demands and current working methods by purchasing modern machinery, particularly for sheet metal working (CNC-controlled shearing and bending machines). Last year, it also purchased a van with a crane.
It is interested in the use of new materials and the development of special projects.
In recent years, particular attention has also been paid to the internal and external renovation of the workshop spaces, with the aim of making them more functional and comfortable.
Sensitive to environmental issues, it has installed several photovoltaic panels in the renovation of the garages.
TRAINING
Cosmetal Ghisla SA believes in staff training and is seriously committed to educating apprentices, the future of our companies. Since its inception, it has been affiliated with AM Suisse Ticino, and its current director, Nicola Ghisla, is a member of the vocational training commission.
Over the years, the company has hired a dozen AFC metalworker apprentices, three of whom have been recognized as the best in their profession.
