First aid course

3 hours of theory in self-study
(e-learning at www.nothelfer-online.ch)
plus 7 hours of practical course attendance

The eFirst aid course is divided into 3 hours of self-study and 7 hours of practical training. You can study the theory independently on the online platform www.nothelfer-online.ch. Once you have successfully completed the theory, you can attend the 7-hour practical course. Under the expert guidance of instructors, you will learn and practice how to assess patients and perform life-saving emergency measures.

Prerequisite for attending the course

• Sufficient knowledge of German

• For the eNHK practical course: Bring your e-learning certificate

• For the eNHK practical course: Pass the short theory review on the practical day

Traffic awareness course - VKU

Participation in the course requires a learner's permit.
The traffic safety course certificate is required to register for the practical driving test. On January 1, 2021, the revised driver's license regulations passed by the Federal Council at the end of 2018 will come into force. Traffic safety courses (VKU) completed after this date will be valid indefinitely.
People who already hold a category A or B driver's license or a subcategory A1 or B1 license are exempt from the course.

Things to know about driving

Car trailer training (BE)

Driving license only with cat. BE

• Trailer training/testing is required if the trailer exceeds a total weight of 750 kg and the total towing weight exceeds 3,500 kg.

• Category BE is also required if the total weight of the trailer exceeds the unladen weight of the towing vehicle.

BE practical test: Requirements, what do you need to be able to do?

• Correct coupling and uncoupling

• Drive straight backwards for approx. two trailer lengths

• Driving backwards along a curve

• Shift sideways while reversing by at least one vehicle width

• Reverse into a loading ramp or similar facility

• Turning

• Secure the vehicle

Professional passenger transport

To obtain a professional passenger transport license (BPT) for vehicles in categories B, C, B1, C1, and F (which may have a maximum of 8 + 1 seats), proceed as follows:

1. Fill out the application form for a learner's permit (available from your driving instructor or MFK).
2. For categories B, B1, and F, you will receive a summons from the MFK for a medical examination by a medical examiner.
(Your driving instructor or the MFK has a list of medical examiners)
3. Practice the questionnaire on a computer
4. Take the ARV 2 theory test (not necessary for holders of categories C, C1, D, D1).
5. Register for the practical driving test (through your driving instructor)
6. Practical driving test at MFK (duration: 50 minutes)

No practical driving test for:
• Category C license holders upon written request
• Category C1 holders, provided that the additional theory test was taken after November 1, 2003.
• Category D or D1 holders.
