The Buchs municipal electricity and water utility (EWB) was founded in 1902 and today employs around 90 people, including 15 apprentices. The EWB is a public-law company without legal personality. As a branch of the municipality, the EWB has its own management and independent accounting.

Our main tasks

• Construction, further development, operation, and maintenance of the infrastructure necessary to provide water, electricity, and ITC supplies and the services required for this.
• Construction and maintenance of the source and pumping facilities and the hydrant pipe network for the water supply.
• Supplying the city's population with electrical energy.
• Construction and operation of street lighting in Buchs.
• Operation and maintenance of cable TV and fiber optic networks for the transmission of radio/TV/internet/telephony signals, support for the IT systems of the city administration, elementary schools, and other companies.
