If you turn around 360 degrees in a living room, you will usually see white walls. But why is that? According to one theory, white is supposed to increase the brightness of a room and create a functional effect. That may be true, but white walls may soon be a thing of the past. Today, many people want a warm, cozy home, not a functional one. This is where the color consultants come in.

First, they try to find out what the customer has in mind through conversation. Numerous aspects can be incorporated into such a color consultation, for example, the symbolism or psychological effect of individual color tones. Of course, personal feelings also play a major role. In addition, there are aesthetic and sometimes even historical values, depending on the customer's background and culture. One of the tasks of a color consultant is also to clarify feasibility. There are materials or situations that do not allow for certain customer requests. But of course, the Graf Malerei team does everything in its power to fulfill every color request.

For color planning in a new building or renovation, the specialists retreat to their studio in Buchs. Here they develop color concepts, which they then visualize and present to their customers. To give them a better idea, the color consultants also create color plans that assign the planned surface design to all components. Color design

Life without color would be dreary and monotonous. We make sure it doesn't come to that. A team of specialists designs every room so that people can feel at home in it—or at home in the case of a hotel room. How do they do that? Once the circumstances and customer requirements are known and the color designers have formed an initial impression of the situation, the objectives are defined. Depending on the job, the residents or planners are consulted. But once the objectives have been set, the color designer can give free rein to their creativity. Now the ideas take shape: with colors, decorations, designer surfaces, and textures. Sometimes the designer also incorporates light into their work. After all, everything in the room or house should harmonize. But before that happens, we carry out a final check in the studio. Nothing goes out without this final approval. But then the time is ripe for implementation. And the customers can rejoice—just like us. It fills us with pride every time our work has been able to give a room atmosphere, value, and individuality.

Realization

This area is a mainstay of our business, alongside consulting and design. Around 400 orders from the construction and customer painting sectors are booked annually. This is a considerable sum – especially when you consider that the orders vary greatly in size: from painting walls in bedrooms to plastering entire houses or – in figures – from CHF 500 to CHF 300,000 in turnover, everything is included. But no matter what it is, we show every property in its best light. Sometimes a fresh coat of paint is all it takes. Sometimes it takes a little more, such as new plaster or new wallpaper. We can do it all. We can also repair. Surface repairs are even one of our specialties.
