Ernst and Marie Ruoss-Holdener laid the foundation for the "Buurehof Winterhaltli" in 1952 when they purchased the property on the southern edge of the village of Buttikon. In 1962, they built a single-family home, followed in 1969 by a new tie-stall barn with space for 19 cows. At that time, dairy farming and animal husbandry were the mainstays of the business. In 1980, Werner and Marianne Ruoss-Raimann took over the business and continuously expanded it. In addition to renovating the house and the tie-stall barn, they added other branches of business to the dairy farming, such as fruit growing, viticulture, and direct marketing.

In 2019, Michael Ruoss took over the Winterhaltli family business in its third generation and has been running it ever since with the active support of his parents Werner and Marianne. As an ÖLN (ecological performance certificate) farm, various foods are also produced under the IP-Suisse label. The continuous development of the farm is to be sustainable, which is a matter close to Michael's heart. He therefore uses alternative methods and homeopathy in animal husbandry and crop production.

In addition to an apprentice, the farm employs a part-time worker and can always count on the support of other family members, colleagues, and acquaintances. It is precisely this spirit of cooperation that characterizes the Winterhaltli family business!

Direct sales

In our farm shop, you will find many different products, all of which originate from the Winterhaltli farm. Below you will find an overview of our diverse range.

The farm shop is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. On Saturdays, it is only open in the morning from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Due to the sale of alcohol, it is not a self-service shop.
