Our history

Our company was founded by Dante Godi, born in Vezia. His wealth of experience, gained during his apprenticeship with the Inaudi brothers, led to the opening of Godi & Gili in 1941, a company that quickly established itself as a leader in the plumbing and heating market in Lugano. Subsequent changes saw first his brother Aldo (from 1946 to 1960) and then his son Gianni Godi (from 1967 to 1974) join the company. In 1974, after the death of his father Dante, the company passed into the hands of Gianni Godi, a dynamic manager with a modern and forward-looking vision of the business. The company's evolution accelerated rapidly. Many important projects were carried out in the Lugano area, both in the public and private sectors. These included homes, commercial buildings, hospitals, retirement homes, schools, town halls, nurseries, conference centers, aqueducts, ventilation and air conditioning systems, sports centers, irrigation systems, fire protection systems, swimming pools, and more.

In 1995, following the painful and untimely death of owner Gianni Godi, the company went through a difficult period, compounded by the severe economic crisis that hit the country. It was thanks to his daughter Simona, already active in the company, and the management of Andrea Fassi, that the company managed to overcome the many challenges. In 1996, confirming the new internal organization, the company adopted its definitive name, becoming Gianni Godi Sa. Today, in over 70 years of uninterrupted activity, Godi has employed more than 250 people, some of whom began their apprenticeships at the company and have continued to work there until retirement. The company's headquarters, located at Via Vignola 11 in Lugano, occupies an area of approximately 1,000 square meters of office and warehouse space and is a hotbed of innovation and technology: from sanitary systems to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, to the latest generation of renewable energy, we handle every aspect of design and installation, with turnkey solutions that include assistance, maintenance, and emergency response. Design is the basis of every project. Our young and qualified technical department pays close attention to the design of systems, analyzing each situation to find the best technical and financial solution.
