Born out of the passion of André Baumann, a typographer, and Raymond Nicaty, a printer, L’imprimerie de l’Ouest was founded on Swiss National Day in 1949, just west of Neuchâtel, in a small disused workshop measuring around 30m².
Three years later, the business was a success and they decided to move to more spacious premises on Rue des Draizes in Neuchâtel. The path to the west was clear...

Imprimerie de l'Ouest became a public limited company and in 1979 continued its westward expansion to Rue de la Chapelle 24 in Peseux. Then, in 2012, it resumed its conquest of the west, establishing itself at Avenue Beauregard 34 in Cormondrèche.
