About Fleury & Bessire SA
The founder, Joseph Fleury, was born on January 8, 1933, in the village of Courcelon. The second of ten children, he was a farmer at heart, a man of the land who loved life and people. He actively participated in farm work and built barns throughout the Jura region.
In 1963, a year of big decisions, Joseph built his garage and family home on the current site, got married, and had his first child.
As agriculture became mechanized, Joseph developed his business selling agricultural machinery and tractors. He represented and sold International-McCormick and Schlüchter tractors, large machines designed more for forestry work than for working in the fields. Combine harvesters and a full range of haymaking machinery are also part of his sales program.
In 1984, the sales and repair side of the business was taken over by Pierre-Alain Bessire (Joseph's son-in-law) and Rémy Fleury (Joseph's son), with Christine Bessire-Fleury (Joseph's daughter, Pierre-Alain's wife, and Rémy's sister) handling secretarial and accounting duties. The second generation worked hard to build on this family heritage with the ever-valuable and attentive help of the "patriarch."
Two years later, an annex was added to the existing building. It housed an office and part of the spare parts inventory.
In 1989, under the impetus of Joseph Fleury, the company had the advantage of becoming the Swiss importer of "Fristein" articulated loaders, which later became "Gehlmax."
1991 saw the creation of the public limited company "Fleury & Bessire SA," bringing together the three partners, Joseph Fleury, Pierre-Alain Bessire, and Rémy Fleury.
In early May 2000, the existing premises underwent a second renovation.
On May 21, 2000, the company suffered the loss of its founder, Joseph Fleury, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 67.
In 2003, a third renovation took place, with the construction of an exhibition hall attached to the existing building, as well as a washing area for use by the workshop and customers. Development of the hydraulic hose manufacturing sector.
In March 2004, the company celebrated its 20th anniversary by inviting its customers to the official inauguration of the premises as they stand today.
The rest is history, lived out every day in contact with our loyal customers, based on a relationship of trust and mutual respect.
We are building our future every day thanks to you.
THANK YOU!
