Begegnungshof Limmattal

The Begegnungshof Limmattal in Dietikon (ZH) is a lovingly run children's and family farm between Dietikon and Spreitenbach, close to the city yet surrounded by nature. Our farm is much more than just a pony farm for riding—it is a place where people, animals, and nature come together, where children can be children again.

We have horses, ponies, goats, chickens, guinea pigs, and cats, all of which are kept in a species-appropriate manner. All animals are allowed to roam freely in groups every day and are treated with respect according to their needs. Children experience animals up close, learn responsibility, and how to treat all living creatures with care – without pressure, with a lot of love and time.

The encounter farm is aimed at families from the entire Limmat Valley, the Zurich region, the Zurich Gold Coast, neighboring Aargau, and all of Switzerland.

Our farm offers various nature education and animal-assisted activities such as pony rides, farm groups for toddlers, riding groups, private pony experiences, children's birthday parties, holiday camps, and activities for schools and daycare centers. The focus is not purely on riding, but on sharing experiences and understanding nature and animals.

Children can collect eggs from the nest, feed the animals, help out, plant, discover, and harvest home-grown tomatoes. At the same time, they strengthen their self-confidence, their basic trust, and their immune system—far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, out in the fresh air.

At a time when children are experiencing less and less nature, we want to create a protected space: a place of peace, acceptance, and genuine encounter. Here, everyone can be themselves. Here, children learn respect, empathy, and a connection to nature.
