Mavrakanas Nicolas

Dr. Nicolas Mavrakanas in Geneva puts his experience to work for the eye health of his patients. The ophthalmology center is located at the Tour de Lyon, 75 Rue de Lyon.

Nicolas MAVRAKANAS obtained his medical degree in 2004. He completed his training over six years in the Ophthalmology Department of Geneva University Hospitals.He worked there as a senior registrar, gaining experience in cataract surgery and anterior segment surgery. In 2009, he obtained his FMH specialist title in ophthalmology and in 2010 his doctorate in medicine from the University of Geneva.

Dr. Mavrakanas was then selected to pursue a subspecialization in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma at two renowned centers in the United Kingdom, first at Birmingham & Mildand Eye Centre, then at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. In 2013, he obtained his FMH specialist certification in ophthalmic surgery. Mildand Eye Centre, then at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. In 2013, he obtained his FMH specialist title in ophthalmic surgery. He then returned to his position as senior registrar at Geneva University Hospitals. In addition to his clinical experience, he has published more than 20 scientific articles in international ophthalmology journals.

In 2013, he opened his private practice in Geneva. Dr. Mavrakanas is affiliated with the General Beaulieu Clinic, the Grangettes Clinic, and Vision Clinique. He is a member ofthe American Academy of Ophthalmology and the French Society of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the Swiss Society of Ophthalmology and meets the requirements for continuing education.

 

The center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetes. Surgical procedures are performed by Dr. Mavrakanas, an FMH specialist in ophthalmic surgery.
