Professor Daniel LEW
Daniel LEW is a clinician specializing in infectious diseases and internal medicine (FMH).
He sees patients at the Florimed Medical Practice, either alone or in multidisciplinary consultations.
He is an Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva and a member of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences.
He studied medicine and specialized in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Geneva Cantonal Hospital
He then continued his studies at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School
He was Chief Physician of the Infectious Diseases Department at Geneva University Hospitals for 27 years (1986-2013) and Head of the Department of Medicine (2011-2013). He chaired the Clinical Ethics Council of Geneva University Hospitals and headed the Clinical Section of the Faculty of Medicine
He was president of the Swiss Society for Infectious Diseases, the Swiss Academy for Education in Infectious Diseases, and the International Society for Infectious Diseases
He has received numerous awards and research grants (FNRS, Industry) and has participated in many international conferences.
He has published hundreds of papers in journals with editorial policies in the fields of bacterial pathogenesis, neutrophil function, and
in the fields of osteomyelitis and foreign body infections (orthopedic prostheses and others).
