TI-Shop da Luisa

Luisa decided to take on a new challenge by starting her own business.

After working for about ten years at the reception desk of the Pestalozzi Hotel in Lugano, she left for a stay in Australia. Initially, she planned to stay for three months to study English, but in reality, she stayed there for over a year.

When she returned to Ticino, she started working at the Campofelice campsite in Tenero, first at reception and then in the shop.

As this was seasonal work, she had no time to get bored during the rest of the year. In fact, in the months leading up to the holidays, she worked as a temporary employee at Migros.

To complete the year, there were still the months of January and February. That's when her great passion was born: volunteering in Africa.

Back in 2006, she began her humanitarian adventure in Kenya: first with the ATKYE association and then, in 2013, she founded her own small association called LUMO RAFIKI.

Every year she travels to Watamu. Her first stays were 3-4 weeks long, then about 2 months.

In mid-January 2020, she left for Kenya again, convinced that she would return in March 2020 and immediately begin her new adventure.
