Founded in 1968 as a sole proprietorship by Walter Bürgin, the plumbing and flat roof company Walter Bürgin & Co. was taken over by his sons Markus and Roger Bürgin in 2002. Due to its continued market success, product and market expansion, and the associated growth, the partnership was converted into the public limited company WB Bürgin AG on January 1, 2010.

Roofing (flat and pitched roofs) is the company's core business. Thanks to its quality, innovation, adherence to deadlines, fair prices, and above-average customer and repair service with its own specialist staff, WB Bürgin AG has earned a good reputation among all major builders, property managers, and planners across the region.

With the takeover of the business by the sons and the training and specialization of Roger Bürgin in locksmith products and metal goods, a new modern locksmith's workshop with its own machinery was integrated into the plumbing and flat roof business. Today, it is one of the most modern, largest, and most flexible of its kind in the region.
