When Hans Heinrich Schärer moved to the Hirzel farmstead inherited by his wife Susanne in 1771, it was clear that the Schärer family had come to stay.
At first, they offered simple handicrafts and sewing work, later carpentry work was added in the small kitchen chamber, and finally the first Hirzel furniture was created. Our commitment to quality and our love of craftsmanship quickly spread and paved the way for our 180-year success story, now in its sixth generation under Jürg Schärer.
