I would like to tell you about my journey to becoming a successful, self-employed, working beautician. It wasn't always easy. But read for yourself:

In 2006, only three apprenticeships as a beautician were offered in the canton of Graubünden. When I applied for 2006, these places had already been filled and there was no other opportunity to start an apprenticeship as a beautician in the Graubünden area that year. However, a beauty salon in Chur offered me the chance of an apprenticeship for 2007. Of course, I didn't let this opportunity pass me by, signed the contract for 2007, and did an internship at a nursery as a gap year.

After a year, the time had finally come. I was able to learn my dream job at the Lacuna Beauty Center in Chur. I was apprenticed to a very talented and experienced trainer—Hedwig Dettwiler-Alisch.

The three years were very demanding, but also very instructive. I learned the art of cosmetics using a wide variety of traditional techniques. As a result, I was perfectly prepared for the difficult final exams in 2010. Shortly afterwards, I was offered a permanent position at my former training company.

However, I couldn't get my dream of working as a self-employed beautician out of my head. So I started looking into vacant premises in my area and, as luck would have it, an apartment building with commercial space on the ground floor was being built just a street away from my home. From that moment on, it was clear –

I was going to open my own beauty salon!

After submitting my application for the commercial space, I received a call from the landlord shortly afterwards asking if I was still interested in opening a beauty salon there. Of course! While it was still under construction, I went to view the 50-square-meter space almost every day.

With my savings and the support of my parents, I opened my own beauty salon, Beauty Charisma, on April 1, 2011 . I knew that the first few years would be a challenging time, proving myself in the world of cosmetics and building up a customer base. Nevertheless, I remained strong, and after more than five years, I can proudly say that I have managed to gain a foothold in the self-employed business sector.

I love pampering my customers and giving them a sense of well-being and beauty!
