Guggenbüel organic farm, Illnau

Sabrina Otto and Bruno Zähner run the Guggenbüel organic farm in Illnau, Zurich, together with their employees and apprentices. Guggenbüel has been operating in accordance with Bio Suisse guidelines for 30 years and has been following Demeter principles for the last four years. We farm around 36 hectares of land with our dairy sheep, meat sheep, horses, wool pigs, and goats. In summer (around 4 months), a large part of our herd is on the alp we farm in the Tamina Valley (SG). During the rest of the year, our animals can be found around our farm. In the winter months, we lead a migratory herd of sheep that are not milked through the Zurich Oberland. We live and love the tradition of shepherding. In the dairy sheep herd, the lambs are raised with their mothers.
