SSO Dentist in Küsnacht, Canton of Zurich
Dental hygiene
Preventive care by our dental hygienist. Her work is not limited to the often unpleasant but necessary removal of tartar; she also advises and instructs you on optimal dental care, monitors and checks the health of your teeth and gums. She provides instructions on oral hygiene and how to prevent periodontal disease and tooth decay. With your consent, you will be called at regular intervals for check-ups (recalls) so that any problems can be detected and remedied at an early stage.
Composite fillings
Also known as plastic fillings, these are tooth-colored, durable, and relatively inexpensive restorations for small and medium-sized defects.
Ceramic inlays
These are tooth-colored ceramic fillings used to reconstruct larger defects in the posterior teeth. They are custom-made by a dental technician based on an impression and inserted in a second appointment.
Ceramic crowns
A durable and aesthetic option for reconstructing severely damaged teeth. Ceramic crowns are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Veneers
Wafer-thin yet stable ceramic veneers that are bonded to the front teeth for aesthetic optimization. This treatment is gentle on the tooth structure because only minimal grinding of the enamel is required. Minor misalignments, unsatisfactory tooth colors, and gaps between teeth can be corrected.
Implants
Titanium screws that are inserted 10 to 14 mm deep into the jawbone at the site of a missing tooth. After a healing period of 3 to 9 months, a ceramic tooth can be screwed onto the implant, which is almost indistinguishable from a natural tooth. Implants are one of the most durable dental treatment options, with the advantage that the denture does not have to be attached to the adjacent teeth, but is anchored in the bone like a natural tooth.
Bridges
Fixed restoration of tooth gaps. A proven method when implants cannot be used. Like your own teeth, the bridge remains firmly in place in your mouth. The teeth adjacent to the gap are ground down to form crowns, which then serve as bridge abutments for the replacement tooth.
Dentures / partial dentures
These are a cost-effective solution for multiple gaps in the teeth. The dentures consist of a plastic base to which ceramic teeth are attached and are removable. Partial dentures can be clamped to the remaining natural teeth.
Bleaching / Whitening
These terms are used to describe the whitening of natural teeth. We are convinced of the benefits of home bleaching and offer this service exclusively because it is gentle and cost-effective. A peroxide-containing gel is worn in a custom-fit tray in the mouth at home. The application is repeated several times until the desired degree of whitening is achieved. This avoids unnatural white teeth. You determine the degree of whitening, and the result is predictable. It is also possible to whiten individual teeth. The tray remains with you, so the application can be repeated even years later.
Michigan splint
Treatment of tooth wear and head and neck pain (often even back pain) caused by hyperactivity of the masticatory muscles (teeth grinding). A Michigan splint (also known as a "bite splint") is a transparent plastic mold that is customized to fit your teeth and is usually placed on the upper teeth. It is worn at night and prevents you from destroying your teeth through mechanical abrasion of tooth substance.
Tooth jewelry
The bonding of real and fake diamonds (glitter stones) to teeth.
