Acceptance inspections NIV 734.27
If an installation with an inspection period of 10 years or less is newly created or modified, it must be inspected by an independent inspection body. If defects are found, these must be rectified by the installer before we sign the safety certificate issued by the electrical installer. Objects such as industrial, commercial, service companies, or public buildings have inspection periods of less than 20 years.
Periodic inspections NIV 734.27
The owners of electrical installations are responsible for their safe operation and maintenance in accordance with the Swiss Low Voltage Directive. To ensure this, electrical installations are inspected at regular intervals.
Equipment inspection NEV 734.26
Every day, you use a variety of electrical equipment for your professional activities or in your household.
Are you aware that using defective or faulty electrical equipment, such as drills, toasters, etc., can cause a risk of electric shock or fire? Often, dangerous defects in equipment are not visible to the naked eye and can only be detected by measurements. By periodically inspecting electrical equipment, we can reduce the risk of electrical accidents caused by defective devices.
As an employer, you are obliged by the following legal provisions to maintain electrical equipment in proper condition, to test it, and to document this:
Ordinance on Low-Voltage Electrical Equipment (NEV) 734.26
Federal Law on Accident Insurance (UVG) 832.20
Ordinance on the Prevention of Accidents and Occupational Diseases (VUV) 832.30
