Who are we?

THE DEO GRATIAS FOUNDATION

was created on November 1, 1983, and was established by notarial deed on June 18, 1987. In accordance with the wishes of its founders, Madeleine and Jean-Pierre Tauxe-Desgraz, the statutes specify that it is an autonomous, interdenominational Christian foundation that is not dependent on any ecclesiastical authority. With a view to bearing witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, its purpose is to promote and carry out all social, cultural, and religious activities. It is recognized as being of public utility and enjoys the usual tax exemptions.

A beautiful story...

The Foundation's origins are based on the following two essential and complementary concepts:

The first is that for many years, particularly due to his experience in the church, Jean-Pierre Tauxe had become convinced of the need to create a place of welcome open to all families or individuals seeking a haven where they could be listened to, rest (vacation), or find refuge.

Lacking the necessary resources and finding little support for his idea, apart from the moral support of his friend Mr. René Filletaz, he decided to wait for a sign from God, considering the legal form of a public utility foundation to be the most appropriate for the creation of such an enterprise, given the political and social structures of the country.
