To all my female and male friends, almost all of whom are going through the next phase of our lives.

We are at an age where our hair is thinning and turning gray, wrinkles are increasing, and our six-pack abs are turning into a washing machine drum.

We see young and fit 25-year-olds and revel in memories. But we were also 25 once, just as they will be our age one day. What they have in their youth and carefreeness, we have in our wisdom and experience. We are no longer the fastest, but we know a few shortcuts in life.

We have raised families, run households, paid the bills, and coped with illness and sadness.

We are warriors in calmness... like a vintage car or a fine wine.

Even though our bodies may no longer be what they once were, they carry our souls, our courage, and our strength.

We will all embrace this chapter of our lives with humility, grace, and pride for all that we have been through.

And we should never feel bad just because we are getting older. ………

It is a privilege that is denied to so many.
