Who We Are

The Knupfer company was founded in 1964 on the initiative of my father Joseph Knupfer who, after several years of experience in the industry and after obtaining the federal mastery as a upholsterer-decorator, decided to start his own business.

The business at that time focused on making curtains of all kinds, making and refurbishing upholstered furniture and laying textile wall hangings and carpeting. In 1986 I embarked on an apprenticeship as an interior decorator and after further training as a furniture designer driven by a growing need to broaden my horizons I attended the Scuola Superiore di Arte Applicata interior architecture section in Lugano, graduating in 1996. After a work experience abroad I start, in parallel with the work done in my father's company, my activity as interior architect. In 2001 I definitively took over my father's company incorporating my activity as interior architect and starting a process of transformation of the offer of products and services. This process in addition to completely changing the appearance of the showroom and office in Via al Chioso 30 in two stages(2001 and 2004) introduces as a novelty the display and sale of furniture, the installation of wood floors and the general expansion of the offer to all areas of interior design. This process, which is constantly evolving, prompted me to invest in this site to better illustrate our business and introduce our potential to an ever-growing audience.
