Our mission is the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of kidney disease

At our medical center, we contribute to the comprehensive and personalized care of patients with kidney disease and their families.

Our activities focus on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of kidney disease with the aim of preventing its progression to chronic renal failure. The quality of life of both the patient and their family is at the heart of our concerns.

We speak: Italian (mother tongue), Ticino dialect, English, French, German, Chinese, Albanian, and Romanian.

PD(Aus) Dr. Claudia Ferrier-Guerra, MAS

Director of Nefrocentro Ticino

An FMH specialist in nephrology and internal medicine since 1993, Dr. Ferrier-Guerra graduated in medicine from the University of Bern and obtained her postdoctoral degree (PD) from the University of Melbourne. She also holds a Master's degree in "Economics, Health Management, and Social Health" from the University of Lugano. In addition to consulting in specialist medical practices in Lugano and Caslano, she is active in the field of education, teaching medical students at the University of Bern and accredited by the FMH for training in nephrology.

Dr. Ferrier, founder of the Dr. Ferrier Sagl Dialysis Center, which she directed and managed for 20 years, has extensive experience in dialysis therapy. She also has close ties with Swiss university centers in the field of kidney transplantation.

Continuing education courses

The Nefrocentro Ticino offers three refresher courses in nephrology each year. These courses are designed for medical specialists and family doctors and are CME accredited.
