Dr. Marco Castelli
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia on September 23, 1988, with an experimental thesis entitled "Psychological aspects of breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Survey of a sample of 55 women who have undergone mastectomy," receiving a grade of 110/110 with honors.
From January 1989 to January 1990, he worked at the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the University of Pavia (Director Prof. Giorgio Boggio Robutti), based at the "Città di Pavia" Nursing Home in Pavia, as a medical assistant in training.
From January 1990 to October 1990, he worked at the Plastic Surgery Division of the S. Anna Hospital in Como (Head Prof. Alessandro Savani) as a medical assistant specializing in plastic surgery.
From January 1992 to December 1992, he worked at the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Division of the University of Pavia (Director Prof. Giorgio Boggio Robutti) based at the S. Siro Nursing Home in Milan, as a medical assistant in training.
From July 1992 to September 1992, he attended the Fluminense Plastic Surgery Clinic in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) as a resident physician (Directors Dr. Ronaldo Pontes and Dr. Liacyr Ribeiro).
From January 1993 to December 1993, he worked in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery and Hand Surgery at the "L. Pasteur" University Hospital Center in Nice (France) as a medical assistant (Director Prof. E. Lebreton).
He obtained his specialization diploma in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the University of Pavia on June 3, 1993, with a score of 50/50, discussing an experimental thesis entitled "Descriptive anatomy and surgical anatomy of the gluteus maximus muscle; possibility of creating muscle and musculocutaneous flaps."
He was a member of the Scientific Secretariat of the First International Workshop on "Advanced Technologies in Plastic Surgery" held in Varese in June 1992.
He is the author of several publications in the field of plastic surgery. He is a member of the Italian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.
He is a full member of the European Association of Aesthetic Surgery (ASSECE).
He is a full member of the Scientific Committee of the European Association of Aesthetic Surgery (ASSECE).
Since 1994, he has been practicing cosmetic surgery privately: he currently works in Varese, Appiano Gentile, Lugano, and Bellinzona.
