Company history
In 1987, Josef Birrer founded the company in Luthern, based in Wursthof. With what was then still a modest infrastructure, he set out on his own. Over time, the company continuously invested in machinery and equipment.
In 1990, the Wursthof workshop was expanded. Additional employees were also hired.
In 1996, the Rosenmatt property in the village was taken over from the former Roos carpentry business.
From 1997 onwards, apprentices were also trained at the Birrer carpentry workshop. In addition, more and more work was now being carried out in the field of timber construction/staircase construction.
In 1999, the Rosenmatt workshop was also expanded. The areas of work became increasingly diverse. Specialization in a few products/services was deliberately avoided.
In the fall of 2008, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new workshop on the Rosenmatt property took place.
The beginning of 2012 marks the start of a new era in our company's history. The company was converted into a public limited company and is now called Birrer Schreinerei Holzbau AG.
