Steps to obtain a driver's license:

1. Take a first aid course. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate (valid for 6 years).

1. Have your eyes tested (valid for 24 months) by an optician or approved doctor CHF 20.

2. Fill out the learner's permit application form at the motor vehicle department and register in person.

1. After passing the theory test, you will receive a learner's permit, with which you are recommended to take practical lessons in a manual or automatic vehicle.

1. Take a traffic theory course (awareness training)

2. Two-phase license – one mandatory day to be completed within three years
