Animal hair/fibers

These come from the animal's coat and therefore naturally possess the same properties: they provide warmth and insulation. The basic substance is horn (keratin), which has a scaly structure, allowing these fibers to trap additional air (thermal insulation) and absorb moisture. Animal fibers include animal hair, wool (sheep, camels, etc.), bird feathers, and down.

 

horsehair

This is a collective term for the hair of horses, oxen, cows, pigs, and goats. Depending on demand and the desired price range, the different materials are mixed or sold separately. Horsehair and ox hair are equivalent in terms of quality and durability. Much of the horsehair available is actually pure ox hair. The extraction, processing, and use of both qualities is the same. This gives us three categories/qualities.

We use only pure tail hair from cattle or horses.

All our tail hair is hot washed and thoroughly cleaned. The hair is given its outstanding and unmatched bounce in a vacuum steam chamber, where it is sterilized and fixed. Our tail hair is completely odorless.
