December 9, 2017 | Jan PoëllWe are a family business, now in its third generation under the management of Peter and Annelies Sturzenegger-Frick. Our family has been happily running the butcher's shop since 1938. Our business consists of three specialist butcher's shops – in Schwellbrunn, Waldstatt, and Mörschwil – as well as the Ochsen restaurant in Schwellbrunn. In Waldstatt, the carcasses are professionally cut, trimmed ready for sale and prepared for storage. Raw cured meats (Appenzeller Mostbröckli, Säntisbröckli and Appenzeller Zäuerlispeck) as well as ham products and sausage specialties are also produced in Waldstatt.
At our Gasthaus Ochsen restaurant, we offer modern fresh market cuisine with high-quality regional and brand-name products. Thanks to our in-house butchery, we know exactly where our meat products come from. We are widely known for our specialties and warm hospitality.
