The law firm of V. Willemin, G. Ponsart, L. Zumbach and M. Rérat was founded in 1972 by Me François Boillat, who had qualified as a lawyer in 1969 and had been working for 3 years as a clerk at the Supreme Court of the Canton of Berne.

The workload soon became such that, as early as 1978, he joined forces with Me Yves Richon, one of his former trainees.

Since then, the firm's expansion has never ceased, and a second office was opened in Delémont in 1979.

Me Vincent Willemin, then Judge at the Administrative Court of the Canton of Jura, joined the firm as a new partner in the year 2000.

In 2010, the firm welcomed Me Gwenaël Ponsart, in 2017 Me Loretta Zumbach as new partners and in 2020 Me Mélanie Bouvier-Rérat as associate. The firm is thus currently made up of four lawyers, including two women, practising mainly at the Berne and Jura bars, two trainee lawyers, three secretaries and one MPC trainee.

The firm's size means that it is able to offer its clients a wide range of legal services.
