Physiotherapist specializing in neurorehabilitation; member of the Swiss Specialist Group of Physiotherapists in Multiple Sclerosis (GSFSM); training in respiratory care for patients with severe brain injury.

NeuroRE-HUB was created to improve the care options available to neurological patients in the area and to offer a specialized neurological physiotherapy service at home in the Locarno area.

The team includes Francesca Estrada Daniele, owner, and Florisa Gatto, employee, who works mainly at home; we also collaborate in our studio with colleagues Laura Delucchi (pediatric and adult neurological rehabilitation) and Miriam Bonalumi (geriatric rehabilitation and Parkinson's).

WHY NEURORE-HUB?

A HUB is a gathering point, and that is what this small center aims to become: a high-quality therapy center that brings together various professionals in the field of neurorehabilitation. The practice currently has four physical therapists specializing in neurology who work both in the practice and at home.

... the name NeuroRE-HUB refers to the specialist field of neurorehabilitation, affectionately known as neurorehab in English;

... HUB: , the brain, the focus of neurorehabilitation, is itself a HUB, a center for sorting incoming and outgoing information; in its original meaning, HUB also represents the hub of a wheel, from which the spokes branch out: an active and dynamic nucleus, connected to every point on the periphery. This is how neurological rehabilitation works: we rely on input and stimulation from the periphery to reach the central core and stimulate its neuroplasticity.

Finally, HUB evokes the image of a wheel: in this case, two wheels! For ecological reasons and to promote physical activity, travel within the area is done by bike as much as possible.

- 2012, Master's Degree in Physiotherapy in Neurology from the Ramon-Llull Blanquerna University in Barcelona, Spain

- 2012-2020, Physiotherapist specializing in neurorehabilitation and respiratory care for patients with severe brain injury at the Hildebrand Clinic in Brissago

- At the Hildebrand Clinic in Brissago: Lead physiotherapist in the Multiple Sclerosis Specialist Group, participating in research projects; creation of thematic webinars during the COVID pandemic in collaboration with the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society; therapist in the Respiratory Therapy Group; student coordinator for Ticino and Switzerland and internship coordinator

- Since 2020: Therapist at GSFSM Switzerland (Specialist Group of Physiotherapists in Multiple Sclerosis Switzerland) with regular refresher training

- 2020: Physiotherapist specializing in neurology and respiratory therapy at the Fisioterapia alla Piazza clinic in Brissago

- Since January 2023: Independent physiotherapist at the La Fisio studio in Muralto
