About
The family farm, Au Clos Cornu, began operating in the 1940s with Henri Fardel, who already offered a country butcher service. His son Éric joined him in the 1960s. Then in the 1980s, Georges Fardel, the grandson, and his wife Ginette took over the farm and the country butcher shop. His two great-grandsons, François and Pascal, accompanied by François's wife Armelle, joined their father in 2013 and now manage the farm. Georges and Ginette are now retired but are always there to lend a hand when needed.
François and Pascal wanted to continue the tradition of the country butcher's shop and so, together with their brother-in-law Ludovic Mercier, who is a butcher by trade, they set up a laboratory approved to current standards and a self-service shop (custom work) in Mutrux.
The animals are raised and treated with respect. All other products used are sourced locally.
