The City Archives of Neuchâtel are responsible for collecting, preserving and making available the archives of the City of Neuchâtel. They participate in the constitution of collective memory, the legal security of the municipality and the traceability of public activities. In addition to public archives, numerous private archive collections (companies, associations, families, personalities) are available to the public, researchers and administration. Since 1976, the Archives have welcomed private collections, the most notable being that of the chocolate company Suchard-Tobler.
