I graduated as an occupational therapist in 1989 and worked in the Adult Psychiatry Department, Community Psychiatry Service, Rehabilitation Unit for 22 years as an occupational therapist and then as unit manager.
In March 2012, I opened an independent mental health practice in Ergobourg in Oron-la-Ville.
What do I do?
Like creating a patchwork quilt, occupational therapists create synergies and assemble the pieces until a harmonious functional balance is achieved.
Occupational therapy:
A health profession that promotes the rehabilitation and reintegration of people affected in their physical and mental integrity. By simulating activities similar to those of everyday life that take into account the patient's abilities, values, and culture, the occupational therapist participates in the development of a therapeutic plan.
Treatment is prescribed by the attending physician in blocks of nine sessions, which can be renewed as needed. Sessions are individual or in small groups, in the workshop or, if necessary, at the patient's home. Sessions last from 60 to 180 minutes, depending on the treatment. Treatment is covered by basic insurance.
Indications:
• Care for adults and elderly people suffering from mental and/or psychosomatic disorders.
• Treatment for adolescents with mental health issues and learning difficulties.
Assessment of difficulties and resources:
• Executive functions
• Praxic functions
• Memory functions
• Cognitive functions

• The healthcare network
