Fondation 022 Familles - Garde d'enfants Mary Poppins

In Geneva today, there is a shortage of around 3,000 childcare places. This shortage puts parents in very difficult situations. The former Department of Solidarity and Employment, as part of its solidarity employment program, wanted to explore this issue and called on our foundation for help.

The issue of the chronic shortage of childcare places is particularly close to our hearts. This is one of the reasons why the 022 Familles Foundation agreed to take on the challenge of creating a new type of childcare for preschool-aged children. This project was designed and set up in collaboration with the City of Geneva's Early Childhood Delegation.

Mary Poppins is first and foremost a new training program that leads to a permanent contract with the company. This new childcare model takes place in your home. It has been designed to meet your needs as closely as possible. It operates on a full-day basis of 10 hours per day of mandatory care between 7:30 a.m. at the earliest and 6:30 p.m. at the latest (for example, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., etc.) from Monday to Friday and only in the canton of Geneva.

Care is provided for a minimum of one day per week, with regular hours and over long periods (minimum 6 months, except in exceptional cases).
The role of the Mary Poppins parental assistant is to take over from the parents during their absence. She takes care of the child and their living space and performs tasks directly related to the child, such as tidying and cleaning their room or preparing their meals. She will take them to the park and the local toy library.

The company regularly offers a program of possible activities, such as museum exhibitions, story readings in libraries, as well as new seasonal game sheets and recipes that can be made with children.
