Company - Lardi Scirè Butcher's Shop

In 1951, Edi Lardi, then a cattle farmer, founded the Edi Lardi Butcher's Shop in Le Prese [Valposchiavo, Grisons, Switzerland].

From the outset, the company had its own slaughterhouse and shop. Edi Lardi attached great importance to purchasing animals directly from farmers in Val Poschiavo: he was very attached to the people of his homeland and appreciated the quality and value of local livestock.

He is a farmer, butcher, trader, and supplier all at once.

He knows his merchandise well and personally guarantees the excellent quality of his products, which are always fresh and natural.

The business grows, thanks in part to the tireless support of his wife Lidia.

In 1968, his son Edoardo joined the company. Together with his wife Alice, he runs the Lardi butcher's shop in Via di Puntunai in Poschiavo.

In 1984, he bought the former Arnaldo Semadeni dairy in Poschiavo, renovated it, and transformed it into an attractive shop with an adjoining workshop and refrigeration facilities.

In 2016, with Sandra Lardi Scirè, Edoardo's daughter, the third generation took over the business. The name changed to Macelleria Lardi Scirè.

The butcher's shop therefore remains in the hands of the Lardi family, which also employs seven butchers and one assistant.

The company has two stores in Valposchiavo:

one in Le Prese

one in Poschiavo, in Via da Mez

Meat platter:

We prepare meat for fondue or barbecue and platters with cold cuts and cheeses for special occasions.

At our counter, you will find an excellent assortment of local and Valtellina cheese specialties.

Homemade ready meals:

We are delighted to spoil our customers with carefully prepared dishes:

roast beef, roast pork, ham in crust, veal with tuna sauce, panzerotti, lasagna, and game stew.

Macelleria Lardi Scirè is more than just a butcher's shop: we offer a selection of the most important food products and local specialties. In our wine corner, you will find fine wines from the Val Poschiavo wineries, which produce their wine in nearby Valtellina or Tuscany.

We also offer some very special products, such as baby blankets and throws and sheep's wool slippers: all expertly crafted by a company in central Switzerland.
