Treatment services for children and adolescents

The services are aimed at young people aged 0–20 and their parents, families, or closest caregivers. Each stage of development presents different challenges and problems, some of which are age-specific, and it may sometimes be necessary to seek professional support.

The following difficulties, for example, may be reasons for registering with my practice:

• Developmental disorders
• Social and emotional behavioral disorders
• Particular stress
• Depression
• Compulsive behavior
• Eating disorders
• Constant restlessness
• School problems
• Aggressiveness
• Self-harming behavior
• Suicidal statements
• Parents with mental illness

An initial consultation is usually followed by an assessment phase involving discussions about the child's development to date, problem behavior, family situation and, if necessary, the situation at kindergarten, school, training center or workplace. Psychological testing and a physical examination may also be necessary.

Once all the necessary findings are available, the next steps are discussed with the parents and the child/adolescent concerned in a results meeting.

If a treatment plan is agreed upon, a common goal is developed and regularly reviewed and adjusted as necessary.

Depending on the age and situation, various psychotherapeutic approaches are used in further treatment, such as play therapy, talk therapy in individual or family settings, etc. Sometimes medication may also be indicated in order to better treat the symptoms.

No forensic assessments are carried out.

Financing

Patients with basic insurance must be referred by their pediatrician or family doctor; patients with supplementary insurance can register directly.

You will receive the invoice at home, but if you have cost approval (except for the deductible you have agreed upon), your health insurance company will reimburse you.

According to the contract with the LKV, your health insurance company will cover the costs of up to 40 hours of therapy per year.
