"When nature speaks through flowers, beauty is expressed in its purest form." Since September 1, 1998, we have been nurturing and cultivating our passion: plants. We, Erwin Verhoeven (a trained horticultural engineer) and my partner Margreet Blaauwendraat, run the Sonnenburg Nursery, which will soon be 150 years old. It was completely rebuilt and renovated in 1998/99 to create a good basis for the production of plants for balconies and gardens, as well as for sales. Marked with signs, you can reach our sales outlet from Sonnenburggutstrasse, which is located in and around the greenhouse. In addition to growing plants, the greenhouse also serves as a place of work and sale, allowing our customers to get a taste of greenhouse air and gain an insight into our gardening work. Your idyllic garden center in the historic park of the Sonnenburg estate since 1875. Our product range includes flowering perennials, shrubs, summer flowers, fruit and berries, aquatic plants, vegetable seedlings, containers, and much more for your balcony and garden. In winter, we offer everything you need for a beautiful Advent and Christmas season: flower arrangements, Christmas trees, decorative branches, door wreaths, etc. We are happy to advise and assist you in planning and designing your balcony and garden and look forward to your visit.


About us... Since September 1, 1998, Erwin Verhoeven (a trained horticultural engineer) and his partner Margreet Blaauwendraat have been running the Sonnenburg Nursery, which is almost 150 years old. It was completely rebuilt and renovated in 1998/99 to create a good basis for the production of plants for balconies and gardens as well as for sale. In the new light-flooded greenhouse (computer-controlled) with ebb and flow tables for watering plants, optimal conditions for plants and people have been created. We are particularly proud of our recirculating water supply: rainwater is stored in a water basin/reservoir for dry periods. This minimizes the use of mains water. Not only rainwater, but also the water that the plants do not absorb is returned to the water basin via a drainage system. If more water is needed, water can also be taken from the Klusbach stream. This stream flows through the Sonnenburggut and is filled with water depending on the season. Marked with signs, you can reach our sales outlet, which is located in and around the greenhouse, from Sonnenburggutstrasse. In addition to growing plants, the greenhouse also serves as a place of work and sale, allowing our customers to get a taste of greenhouse air and gain an insight into our gardening work.
