Innovation and expertise in electrical engineering
Company profile
Robert Fuchs AG has been managed by Elisabeth Stokmaier-Fuchs (helicopter division) and Paul Birchler (electrical division) since 2006. In 2021, management of the electrical division was handed over to Marco Müller. Robert Stokmaier is the managing director of Fuchs Helikopter. "We develop, produce, and implement electrical engineering. We are a healthy SME, competent and motivated. As a pleasant employer, we lead our employees according to established guiding principles, promoting and demanding personal responsibility and expertise!" These are the principles of founder Robert Fuchs; the company management continues to be guided by his values today and develops them further in line with the times.
Fifty-two employees work in development, production, order processing, administration, and helicopter operations. The electrical engineering and helicopter operations divisions continue to operate under one roof.
Robert Fuchs' passion for flying led to the establishment of the helicopter operations division. In 1968, he purchased a Hughes 500C helicopter and founded a flight school. The company is a commercial representative for Hughes helicopters and specializes in training, transport, film and photography flights. Fuchs helicopters are used in numerous sports and other broadcasts by SF DRS.
The "turbine construction for small power plants" division is another specialty of Robert Fuchs AG. This was established after the company acquired the rights to use the small reservoir above the production facility by relocating production to Nesslau. In 1984, it built a new pressure pipeline from Jental to Nesslau and produced a custom-made Pelton turbine for the company's own small power plant. The experience gained in the process was decisive for the continuous development of this business area.
Company history
In 1952, Robert Fuchs began developing and producing electrical engineering products. On January 12, 1956, the Netstal power station was supplied with the first registered concrete cable distribution cabinet.
In 1958, he founded the sole proprietorship Robert Fuchs-Bamert. The company developed favorably and invested entrepreneurially in production facilities, residential buildings, and commercial buildings with residential units. The newly established workshops began producing single-pole NH fuse bases in-house.
Ten years later, the electrical engineering company launches the market's first prefabricated foundation for concrete cable distribution cabinets. The success of this product continues!
Over the next 15 years,
the construction of the hard surface at Wangen Airport is completed
the first Hughes 500C helicopter is purchased
the first prefabricated underground transformer station was put into operation at the Männedorf power station
In the 1970s and 1980s, the company achieved important milestones: the first 3-pole NH fuse disconnect strip was delivered, the concrete production facility got the urgently needed new hall, the Jental-Nesslau power plant got a new pressure pipe, and operations and production were expanded. From 1998 onwards, the motto was: steel yes, but stainless!
In 1999, Robert Fuchs designed the Chipole dam in Tanzania; he connected the associated power plant to the grid in 2005.
In July 2006, company founder Robert Fuchs passed away, following the death of his wife and closest colleague, Maria Fuchs-Bamert, in 2005. During his lifetime, Robert Fuchs had planned a succession solution, namely the transition of the shareholders' council to the next generation. The Board of Directors and employees of Robert Fuchs AG are continuing to develop the company in line with the proven values of Robert Fuchs: reliability, innovation, top quality, and high practical value in all areas of activity.
