Schulhaus Steig

Schulhaus Steig is the oldest primary school in the city of Schaffhausen, with a core building dating back to 1709. Located on a slight elevation in the north-western district near the Old Town, the school educates around 190 students across 11 classes (including regular classes, an introductory class, and support classes). The facility is currently undergoing a comprehensive renewal phase (project 'cinque pi'), which includes a new building for sports and education and a pavilion for day structures. In parallel, significant archaeological excavations of the former leper colony are taking place.
